Breathwork is a potent self-healing tool which balances your nervous system, relaxes your body and mind, strengthens your immune system, and reduces your body’s stress response. On a more subtle level, it improves mental clarity, taps into trauma patterns that we keep stored, and helps to clear out unresolved emotional energy related to past experiences. It clears stagnant energy stuck in your energy channels and opens you to allow for divine frequency to flow through you.
Your Breath is a Portal for Healing
The breathwork that we will practice together is self-guided, reasserting you on the throne of your own empowerment.
You will discover new terrains of your being and expand the boundaries of your consciousness. As we breathe, we bring focus to your heart space, and the divinity within. You will unlock your truth, your intuition, and awaken your own potential to heal.
The breath itself is a two-part inhale through the mouth, and an exhale through the mouth. It is an activated breath, cultivated to move and shift energy.
Everyone experiences the breath differently. It is common to meet some resistance, struggle, or opposition before a breakthrough occurs. By intentionally staying with the breath, it allows for deep transformation, insight, and intuition to move through your being.
It is a heart melting, and heart centering practice- often feeling more enlivened and radiant than ever before after the session is over.
Benefits of Breathwork
Scientifically based benefits of Breathwork
Breathwork for the Body
Increases your energy Levels and Boosts your Immune System
Breathwork improves oxygen capacity in the blood which leads to overall improved energy levels.
These increased energy stores can be used to boost the immune system if needed.
Improves Sleep
The deep breathing that we practice in breathwork helps to calm the nervous system, which in turn reduces the effects of stimulants and stress, allowing you to get a better night’s sleep.
Releases Toxins from the Body
Deep breathing helps detoxify your body, boosts your lung efficiency, and promotes a healthy heart. Over 50% of the toxins your body stores are meant to expelled through breathing.
Stimulates the Lymphatic System
Lymph fluid is responsible for ridding the body of the debris the cells excrete and also dead cells and other waste. Our breath is what moves the lymph fluid, breathing shallowly can lead to a sluggish lymphatic system which is not detoxifying properly. Deep breathing will help the lymph fluid flow properly so your body can work more efficiently.
Breathwork for the Mind
Breathwork for Brainwave function and mental health
Neuroscientists have made a direct correlation between deep connected breathing and your body’s ability to switch from an active goal-oriented brain in Beta wave state, to Alpha brain waves (linked to relaxed/meditative states) and Delta waves (intuitive insights…the subconscious mind can be re-tuned in this state). They’ve also correlated a shift into Alpha wave states with reduced symptoms of depression and increased creative thinking.
Reduces Stress, Anxiety and Grief, Depression and Anger
Long, deep breaths from the abdomen activate a parasympathetic nervous system response. The switch from sympathetic to parasympathetic takes you out of “Fight or Flight” mode and into “Rest and Digest” mode, slowing your heart rate, lowering your blood pressure, and activating digestion.
75% of the fibers from your vagus nerve (your body’s informational highway) are part of the parasympathetic (rest and repair) nervous system, deep breathing activates this nerve and boosts relaxation.
Breathwork for the Soul
Breathwork clears Energy Channels
As Breathwork increases the blood flow in your physical body and brining more oxygen to your bloodstream, this boost also helps clear your meridians and other energetic channels.
When we cycle through experiences in life, we will develop an emotional vibration. This vibration is linked through our mind and processed as an emotion that we are experiencing. When we experience intense emotions, say in a car accident or another traumatic event, the emotion felt energetically, emotionally, and physically can become “stuck” in our musculoskeletal system. This is how trauma becomes stored in the body. When we opens these channels through breathwork, our system relaxes into a state of flow with slower brain waves and relaxation. This is when the magic happens. When our system can re-work itself subconsciously to heal.
By creating an altered state of consciousness, you are able to tap into your inner seeds of wisdom, intuition, and receptivity to “aha” moments of clarity
When you open your energy channels and your heart, you can begin to tune in with the resonance of your own unique energy and the connection of energy through us all. The plants, animals, and our human family. You breath becomes your link to Universal Consciousness.
